Complify Learning, LLC creates online courses in behavioral health and dementia care for professional care teams and family caregivers.
Michael Monahan, MSHROD, leads research and course development at Complify Learning. He brings more than 25 years of acute healthcare experience and specializes in online learning design.
Why we do this work
Our purpose is to strengthen the skills and judgment people use in care. We focus on what each learner needs to do within their role.
For professional care teams
Our professional courses are written for nurses, techs, counselors, case managers, aides, and other staff. They address behavioral health and dementia care across clinical and community settings.
For family caregivers
Our free dementia courses are for people supporting a loved one at home. They cover communication, daily care, safety, planning, and support for the caregiver.
How we research and design courses
Our current process separates research, learning design, and course writing. Each stage keeps the course focused on reliable evidence and the skills learners need in their roles.
Research the topic
We open current guidance from public agencies and professional groups, along with peer-reviewed studies. We track which claims each source supports, check for newer guidance, and look for evidence that challenges common assumptions. We record limits and open questions instead of treating every finding as certain.
Design for performance
We start with what learners need to do in real situations. Observable learning objectives guide the lesson sequence, and each lesson connects its teaching and practice to those objectives. Learners get the needed instruction before they are asked to use it.
Quality assurance before release
During production, we review course writing, readability, source support, and alignment with the learning objectives. We test the built course in a browser for working interactions, accessibility, and completion tracking. Release requires a passing certification review.
